Training Services Manager, The Institute of Wellspring Living

Every day, youth and adults impacted by sexual exploitation, trafficking, and complex trauma are finding safety, healing, and opportunities for a brighter future with our wraparound services.

What many people don’t see is the important work happening behind the scenes to equip the professionals who walk alongside survivors every day.

As Training Services Manager for The Institute at Wellspring Living, I have the privilege of supporting those professionals. My role focuses on providing training, education, and resources that empower staff and community members to better understand trauma, respond with compassion, and create environments where healing can flourish.

My journey with Wellspring Living began before the Receiving Hope Center welcomed its first participant. I had the unique opportunity to watch an empty building become a place of hope and healing for youth. Along the way, I learned that meaningful change requires more than services alone – it requires education, collaboration, and a shared commitment to understanding the realities survivors face.

Over the years, I have seen how trafficking and exploitation are often connected to deeper challenges, including poverty, generational trauma, unstable housing, and unmet needs. I’ve also seen how misinformation and lack of awareness can create barriers for survivors seeking support. That’s why I believe training is so important.

When professionals and community members understand the impact of trauma and the experiences that shape a survivor’s journey, they are better equipped to respond with empathy rather than judgment. Training helps educators, healthcare providers, law enforcement professionals, faith leaders, social workers, and community members recognize vulnerabilities, identify warning signs, and provide appropriate support.

At Wellspring Living, we know that lasting change happens when communities are informed and equipped. That’s why The Institute exists to educate, train, and strengthen those who are working to disrupt exploitation and trafficking in their own spheres of influence.

ACTIVATE 2026, on August 20, will provide practical tools, expert insights, and meaningful opportunities to learn from others who are committed to creating safer communities and better outcomes for survivors. I chose to work at Wellspring Living because I believe deeply in our mission and in the power of people to create change when they are given the right tools and support. Every training session, partnership, and educational opportunity represents another step toward a community that is better prepared to recognize exploitation, support survivors, and prevent trafficking before it begins.

Thank you for supporting Wellspring Living. Your partnership helps make this work possible for the survivors we serve and for the many professionals and community members who are learning how to make a lasting difference in the lives of others.

Together, we are building stronger, more informed communities where hope can grow, and healing can happen.
