This March, we celebrate 24 years of impact at Wellspring Living. Since our founding in March 2001, we have remained committed to transforming the lives of those at risk or victimized by sexual exploitation. Through healing, education, awareness, and lodging (HEAL), we have worked to provide survivors with safe spaces, essential resources, and the opportunity to build a future filled with hope and independence. But our mission goes beyond offering services—it’s about creating pathways to lasting transformation, ensuring every survivor we serve has the support they need to reclaim their life.
None of this would be possible without the vision, courage, and compassion of our founder, Mary Frances Bowley. At a time when sexual exploitation was too often ignored, she saw the faces behind the statistics—young women and girls who deserved freedom, opportunity, and hope. She took action, creating a safe place where survivors could heal and rebuild their lives. Her unwavering commitment not only laid the foundation for Wellspring Living but also sparked a movement that continues to change lives today.
As we celebrate our anniversary, we also honor the strength, resilience, and leadership of women everywhere. Women’s History Month is a time to reflect on the countless women—past and present—who have fought for justice, equality, and the right to live in freedom and dignity. At Wellspring Living, we witness the power of women every day—in the courage of survivors rebuilding their lives, in the dedication of our staff walking alongside them, and in the supporters and partners who make this work possible.
Speaking of dedication, I cannot let this month pass without expressing my deepest gratitude to our Wellspring Living team. March is also Staff Appreciation Month, and I want every member of our staff to know this: your work is life-changing. Every day, you show up with compassion, strength, and a commitment to transformation. You don’t just provide resources—you offer hope, stability, and the unwavering belief that healing is possible.
Your impact extends beyond the individuals we serve—it reaches their families, their children, and future generations. Because of you, survivors are finding their voices, confidence, and freedom. Because of you, cycles of exploitation are being broken, and new legacies are being created. Wellspring Living would not be what it is today without you.
As we reflect on 24 years of impact, let’s move forward with the same heart, the same mission, and the same unwavering commitment that brought us here. The work is not over, but together, we are transforming lives and creating a future of hope and restoration.
With gratitude,
Christian Murphy
