In many ways, April can signify a month of celebrations and it reminds me of the beauty of new beginnings. Spring is a season of growth and renewal, and here at Wellspring Living, we are embracing it fully. From joyful Spring Break experiences for our participants to the incredible generosity of our supporters and volunteers, this month has been filled with energy, impact, and hope.

Yet April is also Child Abuse Awareness month – a brutal reminder of a root cause for a lot of our work.

For many of the youth survivors in our care, Spring Break at Wellspring Living is more than just a pause from daily routines—it’s a chance to experience peace, joy, and community – a chance for new beginnings. This past week, our teams created safe and enriching activities that allowed participants to relax, connect with others, and simply enjoy the moment. These moments of joy are not small; they are powerful reminders that healing includes moments of laughter, rest, and fun.

This time of year, we also proudly celebrate Volunteer Appreciation Month. There simply aren’t enough positive adjectives to express the amazing impact that volunteers have on our mission.  I am grateful for the many individuals who freely share their time, talent, and compassion with Wellspring Living. Whether you’ve helped prepare meals, organized donation drives, mentored participants, or supported our events, please know this: your impact means more than you may fully understand. You are not only changing lives today—you are impacting families and generations to come. Your dedication fills the gaps, lifts the spirits, and strengthens the community around our mission.

And we invite you to join our Spring fundraising campaign centered on support for our residential services for the youth we serve. Children ages 12-17 who desperately need our dedicated staff and resources for recovery. As many of you know, survivors of exploitation and trafficking face significant challenges in reclaiming their lives, often grappling with isolation and emotional distress. At Wellspring Living, we create a compassionate circle of support around each survivor through our dedicated staff—admissions coordinators, case managers, teachers, and therapists—who offer care day and night. This circle is strengthened by our community of donors, volunteers, and advocates, affirming the resilience of these individuals as they rebuild their lives.

From April 21 to May 21, we are raising much-needed funds to enhance this Circle of Care.  Donate to support this critical work at: give.wellspringliving.org/circleofcare

Every dollar helps us continue our mission of transforming the lives of those at risk or victimized by sexual exploitation, ensuring that survivors have access to safe housing, education, advocacy, and healing services. Together, we are building futures filled with hope and opportunity.

As we continue through this season of growth, let’s carry this momentum forward. Let’s keep planting seeds of hope, watering them with love and dedication, and trusting that together, we will see lives flourish.

With deep gratitude,

Christian Murphy
