Clinical Training Program

Wellspring Living offers clinical training experiences for masters-level students in social work and counseling programs.

Wellspring Living has a broad system of care, serving youth and women in residential and community-based settings. Clinical treatment at Wellspring Living incorporates evidence-based and emerging interventions from trauma-informed, strengths-based, multicultural, and social justice lenses.

Training Overview

Interns receive at least one hour of clinical supervision from their Site Supervisor each week in individual, triadic, and/or group settings. Depending on the program and intern’s discipline, the intern may have a Task Supervisor overseeing daily activities as an additional form of support.

The Clinical Training Program is designed to prepare professionals for specialized trauma-informed care in residential and/or community settings.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Candidates for the Clinical Training Program must be actively pursuing a masters-level social work or counseling degree in an accredited program. Case Management positions are open to social work students and counseling positions are open to counseling students and advanced-placement students in clinical social work programs.

Application Process

Wellspring Living accepts internship applications on a rolling basis. Interested candidates should submit the following documents via email to Madelyn Dorn, LMSW (mdorn@wellspringliving.org). Please include the following:

  • Cover Letter (Be sure to include the current university/degree program you are enrolled in and clarify the specific Wellspring Living Internship Position you are interested in)
  • Curriculum Vitae or Resume
  • Transcript

What to Expect?

Once materials are reviewed, applicants may be contacted to schedule a virtual interview with the Clinical Training Team. After the initial interview, candidates who are considered for placement may be scheduled for a second interview with their task and/or site supervisor. Interviews will last an hour and are required for placement in a Wellspring Living Program.

Final decisions will be communicated to applicants as soon as possible by phone or email, usually within 10 business days. Official offers will be sent via email. We do our best to inform all applicants of our process and their status throughout the selection period.

Successful completion of HR clearances is required for placement. Depending on the program, this may include background checks, fingerprinting, physical exam, and/or drug screening.

Post-Master of Social Work (MSW) Graduate Fellowship

The Post-MSW Graduate Fellowship is designed to provide advanced clinical social work training for a pre-licensed social work graduate. Specifically, the Fellowship is designed to increase the availability of providers in the field with competence to serve survivors of sex trafficking.

This one-year fellowship provides a $50,000 salary, benefits, and clinical supervision toward licensure.

The Fellowship runs from mid-May to mid-May. Fellows are expected to pursue licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) during the fellowship term. MSW interns will have priority consideration for the Fellowship position.

The position is posted on our Career & Employment page in February and the offer is extended in March.
