PURPOSE OF PROGRAM
The Women’s Academy offers life-changing programming to women who have experienced difficulty gaining living-wage employment due to life circumstances such as poverty, oppression, trauma, and trafficking. The Women’s Academy offers four pathways – Adult Education (GED), Career Preparation, Career Intensive/Apprenticeship, and Wellness – designed to equip and empower women in Atlanta’s communities for success!
PATHWAYS
Wellness
Open-Enrollment, In-Person and Synchronous Virtual Offerings, Flexible Scheduling The Wellness Pathway provides holistic coursework and services that contribute to personal wellbeing, including group counseling (virtual option), financial literacy, nutrition, physical activity, and workshops. Wellness offerings are available to all enrolled participants.
Adult Education
Open-Enrollment, In-Person, Part-Time or Full-Time
The Adult Education Pathway supports women who are pursuing their GED. Includes subject matter instruction, tutoring, test preparation, and self-paced materials.
Career Preparation
Open-Enrollment, In-Person or Virtual, Flexible Scheduling
The Career Preparation Pathway provides certification in digital literacy, including basic computer skills, internet basics, Microsoft Office, Google Documents, Social Media, and Digital Footprint. Using the Northstar Digital Literacy platform, participants can assess their digital literacy and pursue a self-paced plan to build skills and boost their resume.
Career Intensive + Apprenticeship
12-Week Quarterly Sessions, In-Person, Full-Time
The Career Intensive Pathway is a structured professional development program that prepares participants with the skills and knowledge needed to apply for paid apprenticeship opportunities with our corporate partners.
CLINICAL CASE MANAGEMENT
All accepted participants are assigned to meet regularly with a Clinical Case Manager to identify
and work toward personal and professional goals. During case management appointments, you
may receive mental health support, build skills (e.g., academic, social, financial, coping,
executive functioning), increase support, problem-solve, obtain referrals/ resources, etc. Clinical
Case Managers provide crisis intervention, as needed.

LENGTH OF PROGRAM
Adult Education, Career Preparation, and Wellness Pathways offer open-enrollment, individualized programming to support women in achieving their goals.
The Career Intensive Pathway is 8-weeks, followed by 12+ weeks of paid apprenticeship.
Programming is offered from 9:30 AM – 3:00 PM Monday through Friday. Meals are provided.
REQUIREMENTS
● Female
● 18 years old or above
● Willingness to abstain from alcohol and drugs during programming
● Committed to actively engage in programming
● Medically stable
● Access to transportation or MARTA
● Social, psychological, physical, relational, and criminal history of applicant is closely considered when determining appropriateness for programming
● High School Diploma or GED (for Career Intensive only)

SUPPORT
Transportation assistance (gas cards, MARTA) and childcare stipends are provided on an as needed basis.
