This month, we were reminded that mental health is not a luxury—it’s a necessity. For women especially, the daily pressure to be everything for everyone can take a toll. Whether balancing motherhood, recovery, education, or simply surviving, their mental health often becomes the silent struggle. But at Wellspring Living, we believe rest is strength. Seeking help is strength. Healing is not weakness—it is courageous work, and it is at the heart of everything of we do.
We also celebrated Mother’s Day at the Cathedral of St. Philip where we were presented with a $322,000 check from their Cathedral Giving by Design event. This generous donation will help us build and furnish a tiny home for a woman and her children. Special thank you to the event committee which was led by Rebecca Hollingsworth and Lesley Foster.
Mother’s Day is a time that holds many layers of meaning. For some of the women in our programs, it was a reminder of what’s been lost or what they’re working hard to rebuild. For others, it was a moment of pride—of reclaiming identity, stability, and the right to raise their children in safe, nurturing environments. Their stories continue to inspire us, and we remain committed to walking alongside them as they pursue healing for themselves and their families.
One of the most meaningful experiences for me this month was attending the Women’s Academy graduation on May 9. Celebrating our participants was not just a celebration of academic success—it was a celebration of survival, growth, and determination. These women have overcome incredible obstacles to reach this point. Their courage to heal, learn, and lead is a powerful reminder of why our mission matters.
As May comes to a close, we also mark the end of the school year for many of our youth. While this season can be filled with excitement, it can also bring anxiety for those facing uncertainty at home or transitions in care. That’s why our programs continue to focus on emotional stability, mental wellness, and consistent support—ensuring that every young person feels safe and supported, even during times of change.
To every mother, graduate, survivor, and supporter—thank you. Your resilience is the reason we do this work. Mental health awareness doesn’t end in May. At Wellspring Living, it’s part of our mission every day.
With gratitude and hope,
